富兰克林·罗斯福/Franklin Roosevelt
富兰克林·罗斯福（1882—1945），美国第三十一、三十二任总统，美国历史上唯一蝉联四届（第四届未任满）的总统。罗斯福在20世纪的经济大萧条和第二次世界大战中扮演了重要的角色，被学者评为是美国最伟大的三位总统之一。
In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
The first is freedom of speech and expression—everywhere in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way—everywhere in the world.
The third is freedom from want—which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peace time life for its inhabitants—everywhere in the world.
The fourth is freedom from fear—which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor—anywhere in the world.
That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.
To that new order we oppose the greater conception—the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear.
Since the beginning of our American history we have been engaged in danger—in a perpetual peaceful revolution—a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions—without the concentration camp or the quick—lime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly civilized society.
This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them. Our strength is in our unity of purpose.
To that high concept there can be no end save victory.

我们用一种更伟大的观念来对抗这种新秩序——那就是道德观念。一个好的社会，能够大无畏地直面诸如统治世界或在别国发动叛乱之类的企图和计划。
有史以来，我们美国就一直致力于变革——致力于持续不断的和平变革。我们从容地、默默地革命着，并不断地调整它使之适应不断变化的外部条件。我们的革命没有集中营，也无须生石灰来填充鸿沟。我们所寻求的世界秩序是自由国家之间的彼此合作，是在友好文明的社会中携手工作。
我们国家的命运掌握在千百万自由的男女公民的手中、头脑中以及心中，她把对自由的忠诚置于上帝的指引之下。自由意味着无论在何处，人权都有着至高无上的地位。我们的支持将给予一切为得到或者为保有这些权利而奋斗的人们。共同的目标给了我们力量。
