One day a small opening appeared on a cocoon, a man sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly, he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfy then emerged easily.

But it had a swollen body and small, shrivelled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfy because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened！In fact, the butterfy spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoonand the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fuid from the body of the butterfy into its wings so that it would be ready for fight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

I asked for strength

And God gave me diffculties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom

And God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for courage

And God gave me danger to overcome.

I asked for love

And God gave me troubled people to help.

I received nothing I wanted.

I received everything I needed.

一天，有一个蚕茧上面出现了一道裂缝。一个人坐在那儿，好几个小时里，他看着蝴蝶挣扎着穿破小小的缝隙，试图挤出来。然而，它看起来毫无进展，似乎已竭尽全力，无法往前再迈一步。于是，这个人决定帮蝴蝶一把。他拿来一把剪刀，剪破蚕茧的其他部分后，蝴蝶轻易地破茧而出。

然而，蝴蝶的身体肿胀，翅膀小且皱巴巴的，没有展开。这个人继续观察蝴蝶，他希望在某一刻，蝴蝶的翅膀能够展开张大，身体慢慢缩小，最终翅膀能够支撑身体飞起来。但他始终没有看到这一幕。事实上，这只蝴蝶只能拖着肿胀的身体和皱褶的翅膀，爬行着度过它的余生，再也飞不起来。这个急躁而好心的人并不知道，束缚蝴蝶的蚕茧，穿过狭小的缝隙所需的挣扎，都是上帝的安排。在那个过程中，蝴蝶将体内的水分挤到翅膀里，做好起飞的准备，一旦它突破蚕茧获得自由，就能飞翔。

有时候，我们需要的正是奋斗。若上帝让我们的生活一帆风顺，那么，我们的人生就会有缺陷。我们也就不能达到我们应有的强壮。

我渴求力量

上帝给予困难，让我变得强大。

我渴求智慧

上帝给予难题，让我去解决。

我渴求勇气

上帝给予危险，让我去征服。

我渴求爱

上帝给予危难中的人，让我去帮助。

我没有得到任何我想要的，

我却得到了所有我需要的。
