A new Volkswagen doesnt depreciate wildly the minute you turn the key.
In a way, the old it gets the more its worth.
So that in 5 years, the same VW will be worth more than some 5-year-old cars that cost twice as much to begin with.
Old VW are worth a lot because a lot of people want them.
One reason is that it takes a real car nut to tell a clean used one from a new one.
VWs always look like VWs.
Another reason is that the hold up.
A VW is put together so well, its practically airtight. (It helps to open a window to close a door. Even on old ones.)
And, new VW or old, theres all that nice money you keep saving on gas, all, tire, insurance, and repairs.
Which means you can get a nice price for it. (If, for some strange reason, youd want to sell.)
Its the kind of economy that people are willing to pay an arm and a leg for.
